Mommy and Me Session- Lacie's Girls
13 May 2021
"There was no parking by the creek, so I parked by the playground and we can walk down."
Next thing I see is Lacie, carrying her youngest in her arms, and making sure her two other girls stayed safe by her side...all while walking down this STEEP hill! She's lovingly referred to as "Crossfit Mom" in our household for a reason!
Lacie and I met when I first got to Fort Campbell. I was in this brand new place where I knew literally no one, my husband was gone at a military school, and I was drowning in being a full-time mom to my then 2-year old son. I signed up for a Crossfit box and soon after was greeted by Lacie and Rebecca there. They invited me to a mom's Bible study which also led me to connect with another great group of ladies from all different walks of life. Just a reminder that what may seem like a small act to you could really be such a huge thing for someone else. I'll always be grateful to the women who extended an inviting hand to me especially in the beginning of my time here.
With all of that being said, Lacie is a special woman and mama. Her 3 girls--Claire (6) , Audrey (4) , and Remi (1.5), are proof that every child is truly their own regardless of sharing the same DNA! Claire, is a super observant, worldly young girl that I would argue knows more about life than a good chunk of adults 😌, Audrey is totally cool with her own company and has such a unique sense of humor 😝, and Remi, the littlest one of the group has already decided at the ripe age of almost 2 that the world cannot and will not hold her back! Their bond is special. All 3 of these girls will grow up seeing the amazing resilience, empathy, and unconditional love from their warrior mama. Although Lacie will be another friend met through the military and now leaving (unfortunate reoccurring trend in this military family life), I'm appreciative our paths crossed and will be supporting each other from afar.
Lacie, thank you so much for trusting me with these special memories of you and your amazing girls!
